What's The Move (“WTM,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Email address, name, username, profile photo, and the preferences you choose (such as interests and school). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us.
• Location data: Your precise location, only with your permission, to show events and places near you, to confirm a visit when you check in at a place (for stamps and deals), and to send notifications about things happening nearby. You can turn location off at any time in your phone's settings.
• Content you share: Photos and videos you upload, messages in groups, questions you ask businesses, and feedback you send us.
• Activity in the app: Events you view, save, or add to your plan; places you follow; deals you claim and visits you check in to; searches; and how you use features such as the spin wheel. This is linked to your account.
• Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, and a push notification token so we can send you notifications.
• Crash reports: If the app crashes, a technical report of the error. Crash reports are not linked to your account.
• Business accounts: For businesses: business name, address, contact details, photos, events, and deals, and, if you buy a boost, the payment details handled by our payment processor.
• Waitlist information: Email address if you join a waitlist on our website.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize your experience with real-time event discovery.
• To run features you use, such as your plan, groups, deals, stamps, and following places.
• To send notifications you allow, such as event reminders and updates from places you follow.
• To communicate with you about updates, new features, and your account.
• To improve our app and services based on usage patterns and crash reports.
• To provide business accounts and process payments for boosts.
• To keep WTM safe and to comply with legal obligations.

4. Who Can See Your Information

• Other users: Your name, username, and profile photo are visible to other users. Friends (people you follow who follow you back) can see events you plan to go to. Group members can see what you post in that group.
• Businesses: Businesses see totals only, such as how many people viewed their page, plan to go, or checked in. They never see who you are.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. We share data only with service providers that help us run WTM, solely for that purpose:

• Supabase (database, file storage, and sign-in)
• Railway and Vercel (hosting for our servers and website)
• Apple and Google (sign-in and push notifications)
• Google Maps (maps and addresses)
• Resend (email)
• Stripe (payments for business boosts)

We may also disclose information when required by law.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, secure authentication, and restricted access to personal information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention and Deleting Your Account

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, then Settings, then Delete Account) or at joinwtm.com/delete-account. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information, except where we must keep some of it to comply with the law.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at Support@joinwtm.com. You can turn off notifications, location access, and updates from any place you follow in the app or in your phone's settings, and you may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

9. Children

WTM is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at Support@joinwtm.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of WTM after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
